A former blacksmiths, ‘Campogrande’ is a recently renovated family run bed and breakfast situated in the lush and tranquil Umbrian countryside. Originally built in 1910, it has been sympathetically restored by your hosts, David and Tanya who moved to Umbria from their native Scotland in 2007.
Surrounded by an olive grove and a fruit orchard you can relax on the terrace, enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sun go down!

Campogrande Bed and Breakfast is situated only 2 km from the medieval hill town of Città Della Pieve in Umbria. We are ideally located on the Tuscan Umbrian border, an hours train journey from both Florence in the north and Rome in the south.
By Car – Autostrada Del Sole A1
From the North – Take the A1 in the direction of Rome and exit at Chiusi Chianciano Terme. Follow the signs for Chiusi- Città della Pieve, travelling on the SR71 road continue beyond Città della Pieve for 2 km and when you see the road marker IV/73 on the left, turn right and Campogrande is the first house.
From the South – Take the A1 in the direction of Florence and exit at Fabro. Follow the signs for Chiusi- Città della Pieve, travelling on the SR71 road continue beyond Monteleone di Orvieto for 1km and when you see the road marker III/73 on the right, turn left and Campogrande is the first house.

By Train – Campogrande bed and breakfast is only 7km from the Chiusi Chianciano Terme train station which is on the main Rome Florence line.
By Air - Perugia, Rome, Pisa. Airport driving times: Perugia 45 mins/ Florence 1.30 hrs/Rome Ciampino 2.20 hrs/Pisa 2.45hrs. Flights: Ryanair direct from London Stansted to Perugia and direct to Pisa and Rome Ciampino. BA fly direct from London to Rome Fiumincino & Pisa. Easyjet fly direct from London Gatwick to Pisa. Meridiana direct from London Gatwick to Florence.

At Campogrande Bed and Breakfast all our guest rooms are en suite, have individually hand crafted wrought iron beds, hand made terracotta tiled floors throughout and bespoke chestnut wood framed windows with in built insect screens. We have central heating throughout which incurs a small charge during the winter season. We also have a disabled friendly ground floor room available.

The Chestnut Room
This is a suite (sleeps 4) comprising of a spacious ground level double room that opens out onto the olive grove. It has been designed to be disabled friendly with wheelchair access. It also has a small living room with a double sofa bed which can sleep 2. In addition it boasts a substantial bathroom with separate shower and bath.
The Olive Room
Looking out onto our olive grove, this double bedroom (sleeps 2) has direct access to the main terrace where you can have a relaxing breakfast alfresco!
The Oak Room
This is a family suite (sleeps 4) comprising of a double bedroom as well as an independent smaller bedroom with bunk beds ideally suited for children. This family sized room benefits from an original oak beamed ceiling with a private balcony for your own exclusive use!
The Breakfast Room
The breakfast room opens out onto the main terrace where you can enjoy an authentic Italian style continental breakfast that includes home made preserves from our very own fruit trees! A selection of local tourist information and guides are freely available for you to read at your leisure, as well as our extra virgin olive oil which can be sampled and purchased.
Your stay includes breakfast, twice weekly towel change and once weekly linen change, daily room clean and free private parking.

Campogrande Bed & Breakfast is only 2km from Città della Pieve, one of Umbria’s finest medieval town’s which is located halfway between Florence and Rome. Although a small town, it has many facilities of banks and ATM’s, post office, pharmacy, hospital, bars and restaurants as well as two supermarkets. Città della Pieve plays host to a variety of festivals throughout the year including the renowned Palio dei Terzieri (medieval pageant) in August as well as home to Umbria’s most famous artist, ‘Il Perugino”. Città della Pieve also boasts the smallest street in Italy!
Perugia, Orvieto and Assisi and Lake Trasimeno are easily reached as well as Southern Tuscany where you will find the stunning towns of Siena, Montepulciano and Pienza. Florence and Rome are a day trip on the train.
